Police holiday warning

Police across Wellington and East Gippsland are urging visitors to local holiday areas to ‘lock it or lose it’.

Police said there would be a highly visible police presence throughout the region in popular holiday spots, and urge people leaving cars or trailers at beaches, in carparks or at a boat ramps to remove valuable items and lock up.

Police are also reminding residents to think about home security and install good quality locks on doors and windows, lock up at all times and, if away, ask a neighbour to bring in mail and keep an eye on the property.

Report suspicious behaviour to police immediately via triple zero (000) or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
