All traffic will be switched onto the new section of the Princes Highway between Denison and Maffra-Rosedale Rds from Monday, January 12.
Traffic will be transferred to the new highway south of the existing road and one lane will be open in each direction.
As part of the Princes Highway duplication between Sale and Traralgon, the traffic switch is required for works to occur on the upgrade to the Nambrok Rd intersection with the highway.
At this location, a number of new protected turning lanes will be built to make it safer and easier for motorists to turn, as well as improve traffic flow along the highway.
Nambrok Rd will be temporarily closed while these works are underway, from January 12 to February to complete the intersection upgrade as quickly as possible.
Access to Nambrok Rd will be available via Maffra-Rosedale Rd/Sale-Toongabbie Rd or Denison Rd/Sale-Toongabbie Rd depending on which direction motorists are travelling from.
Motorists have been urged to keep an eye out for trucks and other construction traffic, as they will be entering and leaving work sites in the area.
VicRoads advised motorists to allow extra time to drive through the area.
There will be temporary detours, temporary lane closures and reduced speed limits in place near the work site, for the safety of road workers and road users.
