THREE hikers who failed to return from a day hike to Mount Tamboritha on Saturday have been found.
The hikers, two women and one man aged in their 40s, from Melbourne, began their hike along McMillans Walking Track about 10am on Saturday with a plan to arrive at the top of Mount Tamboritha about 5pm, where they had arranged to be picked up. When they failed to arrive, police were alerted.
Police said the hikers remained on Mount Tamboritha overnight and began making their way back early Sunday morning when they were picked up by a passing motorist about 10.30am.
Police said they were tired and had some minor cuts and bruising, but were otherwise safe and well.
