A TRUCK driver transporting fuel has initially tested positive to drugs after being intercepted by police near Bairnsdale Thursday afternoon.
Police were alerted by a concerned member of the public to a B-Double petrol tanker being driven erratically on the Princes Highway. The truck, which was carrying 37,000 litres of fuel, was intercepted by Bairnsdale Highway Patrol members about 1pm.
The driver underwent alcohol and drug testing and the 44-year-old Frankston man returned an initial positive test for drugs in his system. He recorded a zero BAC. The driver was grounded for 12 hours and police now await the results from toxicology testing.
