Arrested after shots fired

SPECIAL Operations Group police were called in to arrest a man after he allegedly fired shots and threatened police with a gun at Callignee South.

Police arrested two men on Tuesday at 10am.

The incident began when police were called to another property in Neaves Rd, Callignee, at 2am after residents nearby heard shots fired.

When police arrived a man, 43, of Callignee South, allegedly drove towards them and threatened the police officers with a gun before driving off.

A search located him at a property in Callignee South, where he was arrested with the help of SOG police. A second man, aged 18 was also arrested.

Both are now in police custody.
