Witnesses are sought to train incident

A 39-YEAR-old Lakes Entrance man is facing charges of contravening a family violence intervention order, unlawful assault and stalking following an alleged incident on a Melbourne-bound V/Line train.

The man was arrested at Stratford railway station on Sunday following an alleged assault on a Melbourne bound V-Line train.

A 37-year-old woman told police she was assaulted by the man on the train about 7.45am.

The man was interviewed at Sale police station before being charged.

He appeared before an out of sessions court in Sale the same day where bail was refused.

The man appeared before Sale Magistrates’ Court on Monday where he made an application for bail which was refused.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Sale Magistrates’ Court on April 18.
