SALE detectives are investigating an alleged assault on two Dargo residents in their home early on Easter Sunday.
The criminal investigation unit is looking into reports that a 55-year-old man and his 22-year-old son were assaulted by intruders wielding lumps of wood about 2am on April 21.
The Gippsland Times believes police did attend a private Dargo address after a call was made about the alleged assaulted.
It is believed two men were treated for severe bruising and cuts after taking themselves to Bairnsdale Hospital on Sunday morning.
On Tuesday, Sale CI U confirmed that detectives were investigating the allegations, but said no charges had been laid.
