HOMICIDE Squad detectives have charged a man following the death of a woman in Hedley, near Yarram.
Police located a 73-year-old woman deceased on a rural property around 2.30am last Monday.
Detectives interviewed a 43-year-old man on Sunday and charged him with one count of murder.
It is understood the same man was involved in a collision in Hedley earlier in the night, and was placed under police guard in hospital.
Both parties are believed to be known to each other.
The Marden man was remanded in custody to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on November 9.
