A ROSEDALE man has been charged with 11 offences, following a collision in Hernes Oak earlier this year.
A male passenger was seriously injured after a car travelling along McGraths Track ran off the road and crashed into a tree about 10pm on Tuesday, April 7.
The 18-year-old learner driver is alleged to have fled the scene, before he was arrested in Rosedale several hours later.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged the man with 11 offences including recklessly causing serious injury, negligently causing serious injury, dangerous driving causing serious injury, reckless conduct endangering life and failing to render assistance.
He has been bailed to appear at the Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
An 18-year-old woman has also been charged with three offences – attempting to pervert the course of justice, perjury and accessory to a serious indictable offence in relation to her alleged actions following the crash.
She has also been bailed to appear at the Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
