BECAUSE of restrictions on the number of people who can be at public gatherings, Remembrance Day was a quieter affair across Wellington Shire this year.
Gatherings were small and people were masked, but many still paid their respects, as the RSL actively encouraged people to lay their wreaths at times other than 11am, to avoid larger gatherings.
