Magpies to meet Morwell for flag

MORWELL ended Moe’s winning run in the Gippsland League netball finals.

The Tigers led at every change to win Sunday’s preliminary final 37-32 and book a place in the grand final against Sale.

Morwell goal attack Jen Duncan was named best-on-court, while twins Rachel and Claire Allison also played well for the Tigers.

League under 17 best-and-fairest Jayde Travers was among Moe’s best.

Maffra lost the under 17 preliminary final to Moe 41-40. The Lions will meet Traralgon in the grand final.

Maffra will meet Traralgon in the under 13 grand final. The Maroons defeated Wonthaggi 33-31 in the preliminary final.

In B grade, Moe defeated Morwell 41-40.

Morwell won the C grade preliminary final against Moe, 42-25.

In the under 15s, Moe defeated Bairnsdale 37-31.

Saturday at Morwell Recreation Reserve:

A grade: Sale v Morwell, 3pm.

B grade: Traralgon v Moe, 1.30pm.

C grade: Traralgon v Morwell, 12.15pm.

Under 17s: Traralgon v Moe, 11am.

Under 15s: Traralgon v Moe, 9.45am.

Under 13s: Maffra v Traralgon, 8.30am.

STRATFORD will be playing in all five East Gippsland netball grand finals this Saturday.

The Swans’ only side in action on preliminary final day last weekend, B grade, defeated Lindenow 31-25. The side will meet Lakes Entrance in the grand final.

In A grade, Lindenow defeated Orbost-Snowy Rovers 59-35.

Orbost-Snowy Rovers had better luck in C grade, defeating Wy Yung 29-24.

Wy Yung won the C grade reserve and D grade preliminary finals against Lucknow (36-30) and Lakes Entrance (41-23) respectively.

Saturday at Bairnsdale City Oval:

A grade: Stratford v Lindenow, 1.40pm.

B grade: Lakes Entrance v Stratford, 12.30pm.

C grade: Stratford v Orbost-Snowy Rovers, 11.20am.

C grade reserve: Stratford v Wy Yung, 10.10am.

D grade: Stratford v Wy Yung, 9am.
