THE Maffra Eagles moved into third place on the Country Basketball League women’s ladder after defeating Warragul 92-70 on Saturday night.
The Eagles led by three points at quarter-time before a 20-12 term gave the home side an 11-point advantage at half-time.
Victory was in Maffra’s hands after it stretched the margin to 25 points by three-quarter-time. While the Warriors had the edge in the fourth term, the Eagles won by 22 points.
Maffra’s Bree Alexanderled all scorers with 21, while Jessica Adams contributed 20 and Jaz Allman 14.
For the Warriors, Jasmine Ferguson scored 17 points.
This weekend, the Eagles will have a double, travelling to Traralgon to play the T-Birds on Saturday night from 7pm before hosting the Churchill Blue Devils on Sunday from 1pm.
THE Sale Sonics will have a second consecutive weekend off, with their next match on November 15 at home against Churchill.
