SALE will meet East Gippsland in the Eastern Regional State League 17 and under netball semi-finals.
The sides will meet at Churchill on Friday night from 7pm.
It will be the second meeting of the sides within a week with East Gippsland winning their final round match 38-30 on Sunday at Sale.
East Gippsland led by a goal at quarter-time before extending the lead to seven by half-time. While Sale was able to reduce the deficit to six by the final break, East Gippsland moved away to win by eight.
Pakenham didn’t have the easy ride it might have expected against winless bottom-placed North Gippsland. The third quarter proved to be the difference as Pakenham broke clear to win 46-29.
Mid Gippsland’s late season recovery resulted in a third win, against Alberton.
Mid Gippsland came out strong, scoring 14 goals to six in the first quarter.
Alberton couldn’t keep up with Mid Gippsland, which won 45-34.
After having the bye last round, Gippsland will look to keep its unbeaten perfect record intact when it meets Pakenham in the semi-finals on Friday.
ANOTHER split round in the open division had Gippsland again come out on top with two wins, putting it well clear on top of the ladder.
In a physical match, Morwell Navy defeated a determined Alberton 19-17.
Morwell trailed by four in the first half but was able to finish off stronger.
Unable to source a win this season, North Gippsland still played with confidence experienced sides Gippsland and Morwell Red.
Despite trailing by seven in the first half, Gippsland defeated Alberton 21-15.
On Friday night in the semi-finals at Churchill from 8.30pm, undefeated Gippsland will take on Morwell Red, and Morwell Navy will play Alberton.
THE semi-finals of the 15 and under competition will be played this Sunday at the Gippsland Regional Sports Complex in Sale from 4pm.
Competition favourite East Gippsland will be looking to charge into the grand final when it meets Mid Gippsland, while Gippsland will take on Sale 1.
