DRAFT recommendations of the AFL Gippsland senior leagues review are scheduled to be announced on Friday morning.
It is understood the changes will mainly affect the Ellinbank and Alberton league, with the reintroduction of a West Gippsland league set to be the centrepiece of the recommendations.
The review committee’s draft recommendations will be presented to the AFL Gippsland region commission before another round of public consultation. The final recommendations will then be presented to the commission for a final decision.
Changes are unlikely to be suggested for the Gippsland, North Gippsland and Mid Gippsland leagues.
Any changes to leagues and clubs are expected to take affect for the 2017 season.
The East Gippsland Football-Netball League is not under the direct management of AFL Gippsland, so is unlikely to be affected by the review.
