SALE Swimming Club won 38 medals during the Gippsland championships held at the Lex Glover Regional Aquatic Complex over the long weekend.
More than 370 swimmers from seven Gippsland clubs came to Sale for the three-day championships. They, along with many supporters, provided plenty of colour and noise.
The host club won eight gold medals, 19 silver and 11 bronze.
Charlie Noble won three events, claiming gold in the girls’ 100 metre butterfly, and 13-14 girls’ 100m freestyle and butterfly events.
Tony Anderson won the 35 and over and 25 and over men’s 50m freestyle events.
Isabella Tatterson also claimed a golden double, taking out the eight and under girls’ 50m breaststroke and freestyle.
Alex Seys won the boys’ 200m butterfly.
Traralgon again dominated the championships, winning the women’s, men’s and overall team scores, with Melina De Cort and Alex Tsebelis the outstanding swimmers of the meet.
