United takes on Trafalgar

SALE United has a good opportunity to record a second consecutive victory this Sunday, when Latrobe Valley soccer resumes after the Easter break.

Coming off a 7-0 triumph over Tyers, the Swans will host Trafalgar Victory.

Tommy Nguyen scored four goals in that round two victory, while a Kristian Phillips brace followed from the goal he scored during the first round loss. Callum Clancy also scored a goal.

The victory moved Sale into sixth place on the ladder and will be looking to maintain some momentum.

In 11th, Trafalgar is yet to post a victory this season, with 2-0 defeats to Pegasus and Churchill in the league. The Victory only progressed in the Battle of Britain Cup thanks to an East Gippsland forfeit.

Ladder leader Traralgon City will travel to Moe. Both teams are undefeated in the league.

The Roosters have won both their league matches, but their cup campaign came to an end last when they lost to Monash 4-0. The fifth-placed Red Devils won their round one match before a bye.

Undefeated Pegasus, in second, will host Morwell rival Falcons, which lost its only match this season.

Newborough-Yallourn, undefeated in third place, is unlikely to have many problems when it travels to Bairnsdale to meet East Gippsland United. The bottom-placed East Gippsland has already conceded 16 goals in two matches.

In other matches, Fortuna (seventh) will host Tyers (12th), while Monash (10th) will welcome Traralgon Olympians (eighth).

Churchill United, in fourth place with two wins, will have the bye.
