MORE than 170 students from 17 schools across Australia will be in Sale competing in the 22nd annual Marist Netball Carnival.
Catholic College Sale is hosting the tournament, which will begin on Monday.
Seventeen Marist schools, from as far away as Bunbury, Western Australia; Burnie, Tasmania, and Alice Springs in the North Territory, around Australia are taking part.
Matches are being played at the Gippsland Regional Sports Complex and the newly-refurbished Bishop Phelan Stadium at the CCS St Patrick’s Campus.
The carnival will be played in a round-robin format over the first two days, with playoffs and finals on Wednesday.
The CCS will fielding a squad with a good balance of talent and experience: captain Paige Biddle, Eliza Osborn, Rebecca McKay, Erin Regan, Morgan Mayne, Faith Biddle, Steph Dyer, Livinia Ronchi, Mia Simmons, Emma Allman and Paige Morris.
Lavalla Catholic College, Traralgon, and Marist-Sion College, Warragul, will join the host as the three teams representing Gippsland.
Assumption College Kilmore will defend the title it won last year.
