Bulls win T20 Blast thriller

BUNDALAGUAH defeated Collegians in a thrilling encounter as the Sale-Maffra Cricket Association Twenty20 Blast began on Tuesday night.

At the College Oval, the home side scored 7-124 from its 20 overs, with Isaac Love top-scoring on 32, Matt Foster unbeaten on 21 and Zac Hurley making 20.

The Bulls passed the Collegians’ score with two balls to spare and two wickets in hand.

Boisdale-Briagolong was too strong at home for Longford.

The Saints scored 141, led by Mick Roberts with 60 and Jonathan Beech with 25. The Lizards were bowled out for 96.

Stratford defeated Sale at Sale Oval.

Lewis Bolton scored 50 as Stratford compiled 150, with support from Brayden McCarrey’s 29.

Sale was bowled out for 123, with Jake Rietschel claiming 3-21 and Jack Rietschel 2-13.

Maffra had the bye.

IN division two, Collegians won by five runs at Stratford.

Mark Nicholls scored an unbeaten 63 to help College reach 5-147. Nicholls and Jonty McGuiness (22 not out) had an unbroken 73-run partnership, while Tom Glenn scored 25 earlier in the innings.

The Redbacks were gallant in defeat, but fell just short, making 8-142. Nick Grainger, Archer McGuiness and Brayden Glenn each claimed two wickets for College.

Heyfield began its campaign with victory over Sale at Gordon St.

The Kangaroos posted 8-127, with Macauley Lawrenson scoring 34 and Rory Smith 21.

Sale made 7-112 in reply, with Jonathan Zdrazil, Shane Pedley and Jordan Pearson taking two wickets each for Heyfield.

Bundalaguah had the bye.

THIS Tuesday in division one, Maffra will host Boisdale-Briagolong, Longford will head to Stratford and Collegians will host Sale, while Bundalaguah will have the bye.

Collegians will have the bye in division two, while Bundalaguah heads to Sale, and Heyfield hosts Stratford.
