LETTER TO THE EDITOR:
WE have a choice. More hospitals, public transport, infrastructure … or holes in the ground.
All are paid for by taxpayers.
Earlier this year, a multi-million dollar mining exploration company, Ignite Energy Resources, searching for Coal Seam Gas in the Wellington Shire, received a grant of $20 million state Coalition taxpayer dollars.
Chinese company, Shanghai Electric also received $25 million taxpayer dollars from them, plus $30 million to Coal Energy Australia.
Earlier, the Coalition gave $1 billion taxpayer dollars in one financial year to four companies to dig up and burn the Latrobe Valley.
But as Robyn Dewar from Stradbroke points out, she can’t get life saving dialysis treatment in Sale.
We had an election.
We had a choice.
And we chose more holes in the ground.
