Violence in Islam’s name is a betrayal

LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

WHEN I heard the news of police accountant Curtis Cheng being shot by teenager Farhad Jabar in Sydney, I came up with so many questions in my mind.

Is it right to kill a person for no reason but because he is not a Muslim?

Is it right to kill a person who is works in an organisation that tries to save people?

How could his conscience have given him permission to do such crime?

Thinking about all these things without linking to any religion, we know even a toddler can answer these questions without thinking for a moment.

But being an Ahmadi Muslim, I can surely say that what Farhad did was completely not the teaching of Islam.

From childhood, I have learned from the Holy Quran “if you kill a person you kill the entire mankind”.

Islam means love and peace, but teenagers like Farhad are completely brainwashed by so-called Islamic scholars.

They have ruined the beautiful picture of Islam in the entire world.

This country has given us shelter, protection, justice, freedom of religion and nationality, and they are giving back cruelty, betrayal and nothing but a bad reputation for Islam.

What Islam actually teaches is love of country is a part of faith, and love for all hatred for none.

May God rest his soul in peace.
