Reform could be consigned to the waste bin

I AM writing in support of John Gwyther.

Lest anyone think he overstates the case, it is worth reflecting on a small piece in The Weekend Australian of March 26.

The writer in that paper says that the legislation to reform the system of parliamentary entitlements that passed the House of Representatives with the support of the Opposition in the early days of the Abbott Government has now been languishing on the Senate notice paper for more than 500 days with no sign of any action to vote so it can be implemented.

If the Prime Minister gets his double dissolution then the slate is wiped clean, so as to speak, and the whole business concerning that nasty word reform can be consigned to the waste bin.

How convenient.
