LETTER TO THE EDITOR:
THE most illogical argument being put forward by Harriet Shing as to why the state government is not funding the final stages of the Princes Highway duplication is she claims the federal government is not providing a fair share of national infrastructure dollars to Victoria.
Perhaps Ms Shing can explain how refusing to accept the $132 million offered by the federal government somehow improves that share?
Victoria is only required to fund 20 per cent of the costs of the road under a long-established arrangement and it seems bizarre that they don’t accept the federal government money and get the job finished.
