LETTER TO THE EDITOR:
GRAFFITI is becoming a concern in Wellington Shire, and addressing the problem is not rocket science.
Research shows taggers are motivated by boredom, failure and the like, and they love to find a location where their tags stay exposed for lengthy periods.
In Sale, we have a classic ‘case study’ with tags on the side wall of Alpine Tackle World.
They’ve been there for months, and if research is right, other taggers will progressively add to that and expand to include surrounding businesses.
We can’t expect police to solve the problem. Rapid removal (within 48 hours) wherever graffiti occurs, is the best option and as good corporate citizens, everyone has a part to play.
